Business
Lanthanein Resources Limited is a mineral exploration company primarily engaged in the discovery and evaluation of critical minerals, focusing on rare earth elements (REE) and battery metals including lithium and tantalum. Its core projects include the Lady Grey Lithium-Tantalum Project in Western Australia, the Gascoyne Rare Earth Elements Project in Western Australia, and the Murraydium REE Project in South Australia. The company holds 100% interest in these projects as well as others such as the Koolya and Kalgoorlie projects in Australia and owns the Tolukuma gold project in Papua New Guinea. Lanthanein’s exploration activities target high-value mineral deposits relevant to the electric vehicle and renewable energy markets, including lithium pegmatites and ionic clay hosted REEs. In the last 1-2 years, Lanthanein has undergone strategic transformations including a rebranding to Fortuna Metals Limited and relocation of its ASX trading code to ASX:FUN. The company secured approximately AU$2.4 million in capital raising to fund expanded exploration and drilling programs, notably initiating drilling at its flagship Lady Grey “Godzilla” lithium prospect, a significant 4-kilometer soil anomaly near existing high-grade lithium mines. Lanthanein further enhanced its portfolio through acquisitions, including the addition of rare earth, high purity alumina, and gold projects in Western Australia, and has fostered partnerships to support its exploration growth. These moves reflect a strategic shift towards becoming a key player in battery metals and rare earth supplies, leveraging its advantageous geographic positioning near established mining infrastructure and high-profile lithium operations. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Western Australia, Lanthanein Resources operates principally in Australia and Papua New Guinea within the minerals exploration industry. Its strategic focus is directed towards supplying critical materials essential for technology and energy transition sectors. The company’s evolving project portfolio and recent financial strengthening position it for accelerated resource development and potential future production.
