Lok'nStore Group Plc operates as a self-storage provider, offering secure individual storage units to household and business customers across England and Wales. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Farnborough, Hampshire, United Kingdom, the company previously managed approximately 42 owned stores and provided management services for third-party facilities; core products and services include personal storage options such as furniture and belongings storage for moving, decluttering, home improvements, student packages, vehicle storage, and forces/services packages, alongside business solutions encompassing pallet storage, warehouse space, document archiving, flexible office space, multisite accounts, eBay/online business storage, and commercial vehicle storage, with ancillary offerings like packaging shops and insurance at select sites. In a major strategic shift, Lok'nStore was acquired by Shurgard Self-Storage in August 2024 for £378 million in equity value (total all-in cost of £613 million), delisting from the London Stock Exchange's AIM market after shareholder approval in June 2024 and court sanction in July 2024, thereby integrating its portfolio of 32 South East England stores, five Manchester locations, and a 50,000 sqm secured development pipeline into Shurgard's European operations to accelerate growth outside London. Prior to the acquisition, the company expanded through new "Landmark" store openings, including two in fiscal year 2023 and three more planned for 2024, while maintaining a pipeline of 11 secured stores focused on high-visibility, purpose-built facilities.
