Business
Mitchell Services Limited (ASX:MSV) provides drilling services to the exploration, mining, and energy industries primarily in Australia. The company offers surface and underground drilling solutions across all stages of the mining lifecycle, including grassroots exploration, project feasibility, mine site exploration and resource definition, development, production, closure, and remediation; its services encompass coal exploration, hard rock exploration, large diameter drilling, coal bed methane and coal mine methane exploration and production, directional drilling, geophysical wireline services, underground coal drilling, and drill and blast services. Operations utilize a fleet of approximately 100 rigs deployed in key mining centers throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia, serving Tier 1 clients with multi-rig contracts that enhance operational flexibility and technical expertise. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Seventeen Mile Rocks, Queensland, the company formerly operated as Drill Torque Limited before changing its name to Mitchell Services Limited in December 2013 following the acquisition of Mitchell Services Pty Ltd. Recent developments include sustained fleet expansion and operational enhancements, with the FY25 half-year results reflecting a transition period amid cyclical market conditions, alongside ongoing share buy-backs, quarterly investor updates, and a focus on free cash flow generation from reduced capital expenditure and long-term contracts.
