Motus Holdings Limited (JSE: MTH.JO) operates as South Africa's largest non-manufacturing automotive group, offering an integrated portfolio of vehicle import and distribution; retail and rental of new and pre-owned passenger and commercial vehicles; mobility solutions including fleet management, financial services, fintech, data analytics, service and warranty plans, and value-added products; and aftermarket parts distribution, wholesale, and retail for out-of-warranty vehicles through franchised stores, workshops, and distribution centers. The company, founded in 1948 and headquartered in Bedfordview near Johannesburg, South Africa, maintains dominant market positions with approximately 20% share in South African new passenger vehicle retail sales, over 335 dealerships representing 24 OEMs and 33 brands including exclusive imports for Hyundai, Renault, Kia, Mitsubishi, and Tata, and operations spanning 1,285 outlets across South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia, Southern and East Africa, and select Southeast Asian markets including parts centers in Taiwan and China. Recent developments include a strategic partnership with Element Fleet Management announced in August 2025 to deliver integrated mobility solutions for corporate fleets in the US and Canada combining reimbursement, risk management, and productivity tools; the divestiture of its UK Mercedes-Benz Truck & Van division to SAGA Truck and Van in March 2025; a five-year distribution agreement with Tata Motors in February 2025 for passenger vehicles in South Africa and neighboring countries; CEO transition in November 2024 with Ockert Janse van Rensburg succeeding Osman Arbee; and an 8% year-over-year increase in South African vehicle sales to 52,548 units reported in 2025 alongside expansion of its pre-owned networks like Motus Select and Auto Pedigree.
