Business
Neoen S.A. (NEOEN.PA) operates as an independent producer of exclusively renewable energy, developing, financing, constructing and operating solar power plants, onshore wind farms and battery storage solutions; its portfolio features flagship assets such as the 460 MWp Western Downs Green Power Hub solar farm and 212 MW/424 MWh Western Downs Battery in Australia, the 219 MW/877 MWh Collie Battery, Europe's largest 300 MWp Cestas solar farm in France, and Finland's 404 MW Mutkalampi wind farm. The company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Paris, France, manages close to 200 assets with a total capacity in operation or under construction of approximately 8.5 GW as of late 2025 across four continents, including significant operations in Australia, Europe (France, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Italy), and expansions into Canada and Latin America; it targets an additional 10 GW by 2030, serving utilities, corporate off-takers and grid operators through power purchase agreements (PPAs). Neoen, majority-owned by Brookfield Renewable Holdings SAS following its 2024 acquisition of a controlling 53% stake and subsequent full takeover at €6.1 billion valuation, reports 2024 results in line with expectations and pursues a strategy of targeted divestments including the AUD950 million sale of its 652 MW Victorian portfolio (Bulgana Green Power Hub, Numurkah Solar Farm, Victorian Big Battery) and 2.8 GW development pipeline to HMC Capital in December 2024 (closed August 2025), and a 760 MW French operating portfolio of 37 solar farms, 14 wind farms and one battery to Plenitude in November 2025; recent developments encompass construction starts on Collie Battery Stage 2 (341 MW/1,363 MWh) and Western Downs Battery Stage 2 (270 MW/540 MWh) in Australia, a first 380 MW four-hour battery contract in Ontario Canada, new PPAs with Equinix (Italy), H&M, Coveris (Sweden), TDF (France) and others totaling over 2.8 GW contracted capacity worldwide, AUD2 billion-plus Australian portfolio debt financing across 2.9 GW of assets, and 41 MWp solar project launches in Ireland and Italy.
