Pick n Pay Stores Limited Pick n Pay Stores Limited is a South African investment holding company engaged in food, grocery, clothing, liquor, general merchandise, health and beauty products retailing through multiple owned and franchised store formats including supermarkets, hypermarkets, clothing stores, liquor outlets, build stores, and express convenience stores; it also operates digital channels such as Pick n Pay Online for scheduled delivery and Click and Collect, Pick n Pay asap! for one-hour grocery delivery, and Pick n Pay on Mr D food delivery app. The company, founded in 1967 and headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, serves customers across socio-economic groups in South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Nigeria, Zambia, and Zimbabwe with over 2,200 stores including its Boxer discount banner and a 49% stake in Zimbabwe's TM Supermarkets; it employs approximately 90,000 people and supports value-added services like its Smart Shopper loyalty program with specialized clubs for coffee, pets, wine, baby, and wellness products. Recent developments include the acquisition of 100% of NTS Holdings to expand Botswana franchise operations in 2025, major store refurbishments commencing in October 2025 targeting 17 revamps by year-end with a new hypermarket format featuring expanded general merchandise and grocery ranges, accelerated Pick n Pay Clothing growth through 32 new stores added in 2024 plus 12 more planned alongside revamps at sites like Mall of Africa and Rosebank, a four-year Tier 1 sponsorship of SA Rugby with logo placement on Springbok jerseys, partnerships with FNB for eBucks loyalty integration and banking kiosks plus Takealot's Mr D for grocery access, and exit from Namibia operations effective July 2025.
