- RFG Holdings Limited manufactures and markets convenience meal solutions, including canned fruits, jams, fruit purees and concentrates, canned vegetables, canned meat, bottled salads and pickles, fresh pasta and sauces, baked and unbaked pies, pasties, sausage rolls, pie-slices, tomato products, fruit juices, dry packaged foods, infant meals, ready meals, dairy products and bakery items; brands include Rhodes, Hazeldene, Trout Hall, Bull Brand, Magpie, Ma Baker, Portobello, Today, Mama’s Pies, Squish and Hinds. In October 2025, JSE-listed Premier Group announced plans to acquire RFG Holdings through a share swap transaction valuing RFG at R4.3 billion, under which RFG shareholders will receive one Premier share for every seven RFG shares and collectively own 22.5% of the enlarged group, with RFG expected to delist from the JSE upon completion; the deal, supported by 77.7% of RFG shareholders and Premier's major investors, aims to create a combined entity with R28 billion in annual revenue and complementary product portfolios featuring no operational overlap.
