Business
Superdry plc designs, produces, markets and sells premium casual clothing, footwear and accessories primarily under the Superdry brand for men and women; core product categories include shirts, tops and T-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, denim jeans and joggers, dresses, jackets and coats, knits, shoes, bags, underwear, swimwear, loungewear, sunglasses and cosmetics. The company operates through Retail and Wholesale segments, distributing via owned stores, concessions, franchises, licenses, multi-brand independents, distributors and e-commerce across more than 60 countries including the UK, Ireland, Europe (such as Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands), the US, India, Hong Kong, Australia and others. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Cheltenham, UK, Superdry plc (formerly SuperGroup Plc, renamed in 2018) executed a major restructuring plan in 2024 that included a UK property portfolio overhaul compromising leases and business rates, a £10 million equity raise underwritten by CEO Julian Dunkerton, amendments to debt facilities with lenders Bantry Bay and Hilco Capital, and delisting from the London Stock Exchange in July 2024 to cut costs and support its turnaround to a sustainable operating model.
