Business
SI6 Metals Limited (ASX:SI6) is an Australian mineral exploration company focused on base and precious metals, including nickel, copper, platinum group elements (PGE), gold, silver and critical minerals such as rare earth elements (REE) and lithium; it holds exploration licenses in Botswana, Western Australia and through a joint venture in Brazil. The company operates the Maibele North Ni-Cu-Co-PGE project featuring an advanced mineral resource estimate, high-grade Cu-Ag discoveries at Airstrip and Dibete projects, and secondary targets for pegmatite-hosted lithium, tantalum and gold within the Limpopo Mobile Belt in eastern Botswana covering approximately 1,500 square kilometers; in Western Australia, it owns 100% of the Monument Gold Project in the Laverton Gold District with a JORC resource of 3.3 million tonnes at 1.4 grams per tonne gold for 154,000 ounces across the Korong and Waihi deposits along banded iron formations; via a 50%-owned joint venture with Foxfire Metals Pty Ltd, it explores a portfolio of 10 licenses spanning 17,000 hectares in Brazil targeting REE adsorption clays at Caldera North and South projects in the Pocos de Caldas Alkaline Complex, lithium spodumene in the Lithium Valley of northern Minas Gerais, REE at Pimenta and Padre Paraiso projects, and REE-gold prospects at Apui and Pedra Branca. Founded in 2007 and listed on the ASX in January 2008, SI6 Metals Limited is headquartered at 168 Stirling Highway, Nedlands, Western Australia. Recent developments include the completion in February 2024 of the acquisition of its 50% interest in the Brazilian portfolio from Foxfire Metals, followed by an increase to 70% ownership entitlement on future acquisitions within the JV in 2024; securing a new prospecting license from the Botswana Department of Mines expanding its copper-silver ground by 45% to 903 square kilometers in May 2024; commencement of auger drilling programs at Caldera and Padre Paraiso projects in Brazil revealing anomalous lithium zones, extensive pegmatite corridors and saprolite-hosted REE mineralization in 2024; intersection of multiple high-grade copper-silver hits and visual nickel sulphides from ongoing drilling at its Botswana projects including Maibele North, Airstrip and Dibete; a 1-for-20 reverse stock split effective November 28, 2024; and an entitlement offer in September 2024 alongside quotation of new securities to fund exploration.
