Business
Savaria Corporation specializes in designing, manufacturing, and distributing accessibility and mobility products globally. The company's main product portfolio includes home elevators, commercial lifts, stairlifts, ceiling lifts, adapted vehicles such as wheelchair-accessible vans through its Van‐Action and Freedom Motors subsidiaries, as well as medical beds and therapeutic surfaces offered via its Span division. Savaria operates manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe, and China, with assembly operations in China to support global market reach. It serves diverse customer segments including residential, commercial, institutional, and healthcare sectors. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Laval, Quebec, Canada, Savaria maintains an extensive dealer and direct sales network worldwide. Recent major developments include Savaria's April 2024 acquisition of all dumbwaiter and material lift assets of D.A. Matot, Inc., which broadens its product line for moving goods safely and efficiently. In May 2025, Savaria acquired Western Elevator Ltd., a leading home elevator and lift dealer in British Columbia, strengthening its West Coast presence and dealer network. The company also launched the Luma elevator, a new product contributing to organic growth with manufacturing ramp-up underway. Savaria continues operational enhancements evidenced by margin improvements and an expanded production footprint including a facility in Mexico to augment capacity, reduce lead times, and optimize global supply chains. These actions align with Savaria’s strategy to diversify offerings, expand geographic reach, and reinforce market leadership in the accessibility industry.
