Business
Sonova Holding AG develops, manufactures, and distributes hearing care solutions worldwide. The company offers a broad portfolio of hearing instruments under the Phonak brand, including advanced receiver-in-canal (RIC), behind-the-ear (BTE), and in-the-ear (ITE) models equipped with features such as adaptive noise reduction, speech enhancement, and Bluetooth connectivity; cochlear implants and accessories via the Advanced Bionics brand; wireless communication systems and streamers for Phonak and Roger brands; and consumer hearing aids through the Sennheiser (formerly branded as hearX by Sennheiser) and AudioNova lines. It also provides audiological services through a network of retail clinics under the AudioNova, Boots Hearingcare, and Connect Hearing banners, serving private customers, wholesalers, and public health systems. Sonova Holding AG operates in over 100 countries, with principal manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, the United States, China, and Mexico, and its global retail presence spanning Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Stäfa, Switzerland, the company focuses on the hearing care industry segments of prescription devices, retail services, and consumer audio solutions, targeting individuals with hearing loss, audiologists, and healthcare providers. In recent developments, Sonova completed the acquisition of Sennheiser Consumer Division in early 2025, enhancing its over-the-counter hearing aid offerings and integrating the hearX technology platform for direct-to-consumer sales. The company announced a strategic partnership with Amazon in mid-2025 to expand distribution of OTC hearing aids via online marketplaces, alongside launching the Phonak Lumity platform update with AI-driven sound processing improvements. Additionally, Sonova secured a CHF 500 million funding facility in Q3 2025 to support expansion into emerging markets in Asia and Latin America.
