Business
Sportech Ltd, formerly Sportech PLC, operates as a US-focused entertainment and betting business, owning and managing nine premier gaming venues in Connecticut under an exclusive perpetual licence for retail, online and telephone betting on horse racing, greyhound racing and jai alai; provides omni-channel wagering including full-service venues, premium sports bars, restaurants and digital platforms such as MyWinners.com; and delivers B2B technology solutions encompassing lottery and iLottery systems, managed venue services, pari-mutuel wagering platforms like Quantum, self-service betting terminals, digital betting channels and iGaming platforms for lotteries, gaming companies, sports teams and racetracks in regulated markets including the USA and UK. The company expanded its offerings since 2021 through a strategic partnership with the Connecticut Lottery Corporation and Fanatics Sportsbook, enabling sports betting across venues and online channels where it earns commissions on net gross gaming revenue alongside service fees. In 2025, Sportech reported interim revenue of £12.5 million for the seven months to July with improved adjusted EBITDA of £0.9 million driven by 17.6% growth in sports betting commissions and operational efficiencies; relocated its corporate headquarters to an innovation hub in Hamden, Connecticut in July; and plans to exit a high-cost retail location in October while opening a modern venue to achieve annual cost savings of $450,000. Founded in 1979 and originally incorporated as Rodime PLC before renaming to Sportech PLC in 2000 and converting to private limited status in December 2023, Sportech is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland with primary operations in Connecticut, USA.
