Steamships Trading Company Limited (SST.AX), founded in 1918 and headquartered in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, operates as a diversified conglomerate engaged in shipping, transport, property, hospitality, and joint venture businesses primarily serving the Papua New Guinea market. The company conducts operations through four major segments: Logistics, encompassing Consort Express Lines for coastal shipping and services, East West Transport for land freight and logistics, Joint Venture Port Services for stevedoring, handling and equipment hire, Gulf Maritime Services and Pacific Towing Marine Services for harbour towage, salvage and commercial diving; Property, including Pacific Palms Property as developer and manager of residential, commercial, retail and industrial properties, Raitpla Property Management for property and project management leasing services, and Portside Business Park; Hospitality, featuring Coral Sea Hotels with seven hotels and apartment complexes in PNG's major commercial centres and ENZO’s Pizza with ten outlets nationwide; and Joint Ventures such as Colgate Palmolive PNG (50%), Wonye Limited (50%), Harbourside Precinct (50%), Gulf Maritime Services (47.5%), 13 joint ventures with local landowners, Pacific Rumana Ltd. (50%) and Viva No. 31 Ltd. (50%). Recent developments include the appointment of Alan Heyns as Property Division CEO on 21 October 2025 to drive the next growth phase, a restructure benefiting PNG Marine Services Company announced on 04 June 2025, establishment of Hebamo Transport Limited as a strategic joint venture on 14 February 2025 to support the Papua LNG project, groundbreaking on the Dobel Central development with Tininga on 29 April 2025, a three-year training and employment plan recognized by the National Training Council on 03 June 2025, and amendments to club financing arrangements alongside a Notice of Special General Meeting on 13 November 2025; the company also appointed new executives including Ruth Kissam for corporate affairs on 14 May 2025 and Emmanuel Auru as Group Legal Counsel on 12 May 2025, while maintaining its listing on the Port Moresby Stock Exchange and Australian Securities Exchange with majority shareholders John Swire & Sons (PNG) Limited and Nambawan Superfund, and employing over 3700 people across PNG.
