Stora Enso Oyj Stora Enso Oyj is a Finnish-Swedish renewable materials company that develops and produces wood-based solutions for packaging, biomaterials, wooden construction, and paper industries worldwide. The company offers packaging materials including paperboard varieties for dry and liquid food products, consumer packaging, and graphic printing; packaging solutions encompassing corrugated fiberboard, complete packaging boxes, and related equipment; biomaterials such as pulp and biochemical extracts from wood biomass; wood products comprising construction materials like sawn timber and engineered wood; forest division services for wood supply; and paper for commercial printing and office use. Operations span primarily Europe with significant presence in Asia, South America, and other regions, supported by mills and forest assets in Finland, Sweden, China, Poland, Brazil, Uruguay, and beyond; Stora Enso Oyj maintains dual headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, and Stockholm, Sweden, and was formed in 1998 through the merger of Stora AB and Enso Oyj. Stora Enso Oyj recently completed the acquisition of Finnish sawmill company Junnikkala Oy in May 2025, following an October 2024 agreement valued at up to EUR 137 million, enhancing timber procurement by 1.7 million cubic meters annually and sawmilling capacity by 700,000 cubic meters while integrating the acquired assets into its Oulu packaging board facility for operational synergies. In November 2025, the company finalized a strategic review, announcing plans to create Europe's largest listed pure-play forest company through restructuring. Additionally, Stora Enso Oyj entered a partnership with Matrix Pack to develop formed fibre products from wood pulp, targeting growth in sustainable packaging alternatives.
