Business
Surana Telecom and Power Limited engages primarily in the manufacture and sale of telecommunication and power cables along with renewable energy products. The company’s main product offerings include jelly filled telephone cables, optical fiber cables, heat-shrinkable jointing kits, cable splicing and filling compounds, wire connectors, end caps, modular connectors, XLPE and PVC power cables up to 33 KV, and power cables up to 400 sq.mm with 1.1 KV capacity. It also produces solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, solar lighting systems, and generates wind power. Additionally, Surana Telecom manufactures CDMA color display handheld terminals and fixed wireless telephones, while expanding into multimedia applications and broadband network services through strategic partnerships. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad and Goa, India, focusing on the telecommunication, power, and renewable energy sectors. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Secunderabad, Surana Telecom and Power Limited has recently enhanced its optic fiber cable manufacturing capacity to 6,000 route kilometers and initiated trial production at a new Goa facility for jelly filled telephone cables, jointing kits, optical fiber cables, and optical devices. Recent strategic developments include a memorandum of understanding with Sriven Multitech Limited to establish a joint venture for multimedia and broadband kiosk services, alongside efforts to enter internet services via Department of Telecommunications licensing. The company also reported significant sales growth in recent quarters, indicating an expanding footprint in its core markets. Surana Telecom and Power Limited continues to diversify with increased production capabilities in power cables, deployment of renewable energy projects including solar power generation and wind power assets, and maintaining an active product portfolio servicing infrastructure leasing income and renewable energy certificates. The company has also undertaken management and operational changes recently, such as reappointment of key directors and disinvestment of non-core subsidiaries, reflecting ongoing portfolio optimization in line with its strategic growth objectives. These initiatives position Surana Telecom and Power Limited as a multifaceted infrastructure, telecom, and renewable energy company serving Indian and regional markets.
