Business
DZS Inc. DZS Inc. (TLFP.BE) provides packet-based network access solutions, optical transport systems, and cloud software platforms for broadband service providers, enterprises, and utilities across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Australia/New Zealand; core offerings include fiber access platforms such as Velocity XGS-PON optical line terminals, Saber optical edge reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers, fixed wireless access via the Aurus 4G/5G family, Chronos mobile transport for 5G xHaul, connected home/business gateways, and AI-driven cloud software encompassing Expresse network orchestration, CloudCheck service assurance, and sdNOS for disaggregated networking. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, the company traces its roots to a 2016 merger of DASAN Network Solutions and Zhone Technologies, with a rebranding to DZS Inc. in 2020 alongside relocation from the San Francisco Bay Area and appointment of Charlie Vogt as CEO. DZS Inc. targets communications service providers, cable operators, electric cooperatives, and mobile network operators with solutions enabling gigabit fixed and wireless broadband, multi-gigabit services, and network automation. Recent strategic shifts include the 2024 divestiture of its low-margin Asia operations to DASAN Networks Inc. for $5 million cash plus debt relief, securing $25 million in funding via debt and equity, acquisition of NetComm Wireless for fixed wireless expansion followed by sale of its enterprise IoT portfolio to Lantronix in late 2024, and a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing on March 14, 2025, succeeded by Zhone Technologies' acquisition of select DZS assets to form a focused fiber optic broadband and cloud software provider restoring support services and supply chain operations.
