Business
Tyman Limited designs, manufactures and supplies engineered fenestration components and access solutions to the global construction industry; its core offerings include single- and multipoint locking systems, decorative handle trim sets, precision rollers, operators, tie bar locks, hinges for casement and awning windows, hardware for sliding and hung windows, locks, keepers, integrated tilt latches, balance systems, seals and extruded profiles; in addition, the company provides specialty access and safety products such as smoke vents, roof access hatches, floor access doors and ladder posts. Operating through three main divisions--Tyman North America, Tyman UK & Ireland, and Tyman International--it supplies decorative and security hardware, smartware under the ERA brand, weather seals, Giesse-branded aluminum hardware, architectural door hardware, roof hatches, floor and wall access panels, riser doors, smoke vents and ladders to residential and commercial door and window fabricators, manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers. The Tyman International division offers hardware and seals under the Schlegel, Giesse and Reguitti brands, with production facilities across multiple countries serving over 100 markets worldwide. Founded in 1838 and formerly known as Tyman plc, the company, headquartered in Ripley, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, completed its acquisition by Quanex Building Products Corporation in August 2024 for approximately 788 million pounds, transitioning to operate as a subsidiary, delisting from the London Stock Exchange and changing its name to Tyman Limited.
