Business
Yü Group PLC supplies energy and utility solutions to businesses primarily in the United Kingdom through its subsidiaries operating in Retail, Smart, and Metering Assets segments; core products and services include electricity, gas, and water supply under the Yü Energy brand, smart meter installation, maintenance, and ownership via Yü Smart, energy efficiency advice, renewable energy options such as the Pure Green 100% clean energy plan, electric vehicle chargers, new connections, and meter installations for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), multi-site commercial, industrial, and corporate customers across sectors like manufacturing, retail, restaurants, and care homes. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Nottingham, England, at CPK House, 2 Horizon Place, Nottingham Business Park, the company targets the £50 billion UK business energy market, holding a 2.7% share as the eleventh largest supplier of business electricity and gas meters, with operations supported by a digital-by-default platform for simplified quoting, switching, billing, and self-service. Recent developments include a five-year commodity trading and hedging agreement with Shell Energy Europe Limited implemented in February 2024 that eliminates cash collateral requirements and enhances market access, enabling £48.1 million net cash growth to £80.2 million by year-end 2024; significant expansion of Yü Smart with smart meters installed rising 169% to 22,900 and owned assets increasing to 27,200, generating £1.3 million in index-linked annualised recurring revenue; revenue growth of 40% to £645.5 million and profit before tax up 12% to £44.5 million in 2024 driven by 78% higher energy volume supplied and 65% more meter points to 88,000; a progressive dividend increase to 60 pence per share; appointment of Andy Simpson as chief financial officer in 2025 succeeding Paul Rawson; and strong 2025 trading with record monthly metrics and targets for over 120,000 supplied meter points, 60,000 smart meters owned, and revenue of £730-760 million.
