Business
Asia-potash International Investment (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. engages primarily in the research, development, processing, production, sale, and marketing of potash fertilizers, including potassium chloride in powder crystal and granular forms, and brine products. It operates potash mines with significant resource holdings, notably in Laos, where it owns potassium ore mining rights spanning 214.8 square kilometers, representing approximately 829 million tons of pure potassium chloride, making it the largest single potash fertilizer resource enterprise in Asia. Beyond potash fertilizer, the company is involved in grain trading, importing and distributing feed grain ingredients such as corn, sorghum, barley, rapeseed meal, sunflower meal, and palm kernel meal used for poultry feed. The company also operates overseas dry bulk carrier and logistics activities, as well as entrepot trade and provision of logistics solutions. The company, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Guangzhou, China, was formerly known as Donlinks International Investment Co., Ltd. and is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (Ticker: 000893.SZ). It serves markets primarily in China and Southeast Asia, regions with robust potash fertilizer demand due to proximity to production bases and low transportation costs. Asia-potash has expanded its operations significantly with the development of a 1 million ton per annum potash fertilizer project in Laos, operational since 2021, solidifying its position as a leading potash fertilizer producer in Southeast Asia. Recent major changes include the strategic acquisition of a 9.01% equity stake by Hui Neng Holding Group Co., Ltd. in 2024 for CNY 1.47 billion, signaling a strengthening of its capital base and shareholder profile. The company has also focused on leveraging industry-leading potash mining and refining technology to scale its production capacity and improve operational efficiency. Financially, Asia-potash has demonstrated strong growth with net profit increases exceeding 200% year-over-year in recent reporting periods and continues to pursue growth through both organic expansion and strategic partnerships. The company maintains a diversified business model integrating mining, fertilizer production, grain trading, logistics, and international trade operations. This comprehensive integration supports Asia-potash’s objective of consolidating its leadership in the potash fertilizer industry while expanding its footprint in grain commodity trade and logistics services across Asia and internationally. The firm employs over 5,800 employees and is recognized for corporate responsibility and industry competitiveness in Guangdong Province and beyond.
