Business
KT Corporation is a South Korean telecommunications company primarily engaged in the provision of integrated telecommunications and digital services. Its main products and services include mobile communication services with 5G and LTE networks, broadband internet with fiber optic connections, IPTV and media content delivery, fixed-line telephony, and enterprise solutions such as cloud services, data centers, VPNs, leased lines, AI platforms, and IT consulting. KT operates extensively in South Korea and internationally through subsidiaries and global partnerships, targeting consumers, businesses, and government agencies. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Seongnam, South Korea, KT also engages in media content production, financial services, real estate development, and commerce through its subsidiaries. Recent major developments include a strategic five-year partnership with Microsoft announced in September 2024 to accelerate AI innovation and support business digital transformation in Korea through a new AI-specialized service company. Additionally, KT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DigitalBridge Group in late 2025 to jointly develop next-generation AI data centers in South Korea, aimed at large-scale infrastructure investment. The company also established a strategic partnership with U.S. AI startup CrewAI for AI agent platform collaboration. These moves mark KT's strategic expansion into AI infrastructure and cloud-based digital transformation services while maintaining its leadership in telecommunications.
