Business
China Tower Corporation Limited is the world's largest telecommunications tower infrastructure service provider, principally engaged in the construction, maintenance, and operation of base station ancillary facilities such as telecommunications towers, public network coverage in high-speed railways and subways, and large-scale indoor Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). The company provides a comprehensive range of products and services including tower infrastructure leasing, shelter and cabinet provision, power access and backup power solutions, battery exchange and recharge services, as well as trans-sector site application and integrated information services. Its core business segments include the Tower Business, focusing on macro cell and small cell site resources; the Indoor DAS Business, providing indoor distributed antenna systems for enhanced mobile signal coverage; and the Trans-sector Site Application and Information (TSSAI) Business, which delivers site resource services, maintenance, power, and site-based information solutions supporting various industry customers across China. China Tower operates over 2.09 million tower sites across 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in the People's Republic of China, serving more than 3.79 million tenants with a tenancy ratio of 1.81. Its major clients include leading telecommunications service providers such as China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. Established in 2014 and headquartered in Beijing, China Tower plays a pivotal role in China's telecommunications infrastructure development and digital transformation, catering to extensive applications including high-speed railways, subways, commercial buildings, and large venues. In recent developments, in late 2025, China Tower initiated a significant corporate governance restructuring by proposing the abolishment of its supervisory committee with the transfer of its functions to the audit committee, aiming to streamline oversight and enhance board accountability. This governance change is subject to shareholder approval and reflects a strategic move amid ongoing digital infrastructure expansion and 5G network densification. The company continues to focus on steady leasing revenues and diversifies into new sectors while navigating the evolving competitive landscape of China's telecom tower industry. China Tower's latest strategic initiatives emphasize deepening the "One Core and Two Wings" business strategy, sustaining growth in 5G tower assets, expanding indoor DAS deployments, and enhancing trans-sector applications through advanced site data and integrated energy services. These efforts position the company to support China's ongoing digital infrastructure modernization and the broader digital economy. Overall, China Tower Corporation Limited remains a state-owned enterprise with a dominant market share in China's telecom tower sector, driving innovation and operational excellence in telecommunications infrastructure services.
