Business
Barrick Mining Corporation (TSX: ABX; NYSE: B), formerly Barrick Gold Corporation, is a sector-leading gold and copper producer focused on high-margin, long-life mining assets across the world's most prolific districts; it engages in the exploration, development, production and sale of gold, copper and by-product silver from open-pit and underground operations including Nevada Gold Mines, Pueblo Viejo, Lumwana, Loulo-Gounkoto, Veladero, North Mara, Bulyanhulu, Kibali, Turquoise Ridge and Reko Diq. The company operates tier-one mines and projects in North and South America, Africa and Asia-Pacific, serving global investors, central banks, industrial manufacturers and jewelry sectors with doré bullion, concentrates and refined metals. Founded in 1983 by Peter Munk and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Barrick maintains proven and probable reserves of approximately 89 million ounces of gold and 18 million tonnes of copper as of late 2024. Recent developments include the completion of the Tongon mine divestiture in Côte d'Ivoire for $192 million in cash, the sale of its 50% interest in the Donlin Gold project in Alaska to NOVAGOLD and Paulson Advisers in June 2025 for $1 billion, a $440 million equipment supply agreement with Komatsu for the Reko Diq copper-gold project in Pakistan targeting first production in 2028, the launch of autonomous haulage at Nevada Gold Mines, and plans to explore an initial public offering for its North American gold assets as announced in December 2025.
