Business
Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company - Luberef (2223.SR) produces and markets high-quality Group I and Group II base oils, including aramcoDURA and aramcoPRIMA brands derived from straight-run residue Arab Light crude oil, along with by-products such as asphalt, marine heavy fuel oil, slack wax, extract, sulfur, ultra-low sulfur diesel, naphtha and drilling fluid; the company operates two production facilities in Jeddah and Yanbu with a combined annual capacity of 1.3 million metric tonnes. Established in 1976 as a joint venture between Petromin and Mobil and headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Luberef serves automotive, marine and manufacturing industries as the Kingdom's sole virgin base oil producer and a member of the Aramco Base Oil Alliance. A wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Oil Company, it exports to markets including the United Arab Emirates, India, Egypt, Singapore, the United States and other international destinations. In recent developments, Luberef signed a Contract of Affreightment with Bahri Chemicals in October 2025 for base oil shipments to the Arabian Gulf and west coast of India; a strategic long-term shipping agreement with SC Shipping; and an agreement with Aramco for ultra-low sulfur diesel sales. The company advances its Yanbu Growth II expansion project, 60% complete as of Q3 2025 with revised 2025 CapEx of SAR 200-250 million and targeted completion in early 2026 to produce Group III base oils under the aramcoULTRA brand; it also progresses the LubeHUB Lubricants Value Park to localize lubricant manufacturing in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
