Business
Malayan Flour Mills Berhad is a Malaysia-based company principally engaged in the milling and sale of wheat flour, trading in grains and allied products, manufacturing of animal feeds, and poultry integration activities. The company produces a wide range of wheat flours including high-protein flour for breads, buns, doughnuts, pizza and noodles; self-raising flour for cakes, biscuits and pastries; superfine flour for steamed buns, mantou and dumplings; Cap Ros all-purpose flour; Bunga Cempaka fortified flour; and Haru Sakura premium low-ash bread flour for Japanese-style buns and artisan bread, all enriched with vitamins and iron where applicable; it also manufactures poultry feeds, aqua feeds and trades raw materials for animal feeds as well as processes and sells poultry products, breeds and sells day-old chicks, produces eggs and engages in contract farming. Operations span Malaysia with mills in Lumut and Pasir Gudang boasting a total capacity of 1,810 tons of wheat per day, Northern and Southern Vietnam, and a joint venture in Indonesia; founded in 1961 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, the company sources wheat globally from suppliers in Canada, Australia, the United States and Eastern Europe. In recent developments, Malayan Flour Mills allocates RM215 million in capital expenditure for FY2025, with RM55 million enhancing flour milling capacity and efficiency through automation, robotics, a new 600 tonne-per-day milling line in Lumut, additional silos and blending facilities in Vietnam, and upgrades in its Indonesian joint venture; the remaining RM160 million targets poultry integration expansion including new parent farms, hatcheries and closed-house farming technologies in partnership with Tyson Foods, which holds a 49% stake in the poultry unit since 2021, aiming to double capacity per coop and improve self-sufficiency.
