Riken Vitamin Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells food ingredients, food improving agents, health care products, consumer and commercial foods, chemical improving agents, and vitamins primarily in Japan with overseas operations. The company offers household food products including non-oil dressings such as Riken Non-Oil Aojiso and Indo Kareya-san no Nazo Dressing, seaweed products like Fueru Wakame-chan, Furikakeru Zakuzaku Wakame, and Wakame Soup, extracts and seasonings such as Sozairyoku Dashi, retort-packed foods, salad-related products, seafood and meat extracts, and cut wakame; commercial food products and processed food raw materials for school lunch programs, restaurants, convenience stores, and processed food manufacturers; food improving agents including emulsifiers for bread, cake, whipped topping, coffee cream, margarine, tofu, jam, ice cream, noodles, and mashed potatoes, processed oils, natural colorants, vitamin E, anti-staling agents, foaming agents, coagulation agents, anti-sticking agents, texture improvers, and antioxidants; health care products such as crocetin (Crovit), mekabu fucoidan, carotenoids, vitamins, pork extract, and microencapsulation services; and chemical improving agents for anti-fogging, plasticization, lubrication, anti-static, thickening, cleaning, mold release, dispersion, and antioxidants, plus glycerol, polyglycerol, sorbitan, propylene glycol, specialty esters, and animal feed additives. Riken Vitamin operates eight factories in Japan including Tokyo, Osaka, Soka, Chiba, Kyoto, and others, and three overseas production facilities, with sales subsidiaries and application centers in North America, Southeast Asia, South Asia, China, the Middle East, Oceania, Europe, Africa, Latin America, Taiwan, and South Korea; subsidiaries include Riken Food Co., Ltd., Riken Vitamin USA, Inc., Tianjin Rikevita Food Co., Ltd., Rikevita (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Rikevita (Singapore) Pte Ltd., Rikevita Fine Chemical & Food Industry (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Guymon Extracts Inc., Rikevita (India) Private Limited, and Rikevita Turkey Food Industry Limited Company. Founded in 1949 as Riken Vitamin Oil Co., Ltd. from the Vitamin A Department of Riken Eiyou Yakuhin Co., Ltd. and renamed Riken Vitamin Co., Ltd. in 1980, the company is headquartered in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan, and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section (4526).
