Meiko Network Japan Co., Ltd. operates as a leading provider of educational services in Japan, primarily through its flagship Meiko Gijuku individual tutoring cram schools, which emphasize self-motivated learning for students across all grade levels; it also offers programming schools, soccer schools instructed by professional coaches, Japanese language schools including Waseda Edu Language School and JCLI Japanese Language School with teacher training and specified skills visa programs, individual English schools for bilingual instruction, after-school childcare services via Meiko Kids, Waseda Academy Kobetsu School for high-achieving students, university entrance exam preparation including mock exams and academic publishing through subsidiaries like Kotoh Jimusho Co., Ltd., Youdec Co., Ltd., and Koyo Shobo Co., Ltd., as well as staffing services for childcare and nutrition, digital marketing and DX solutions, career change support, and recruitment for foreigners. The company manages 1,705 Meiko Gijuku classrooms nationwide as of August 31, 2024, with direct operations, franchise support including classroom setup, ongoing guidance, and sales of equipment, teaching materials, exams, and promotional items, supplemented by group companies such as MAXIS Education Inc., K.LINE Co., Ltd., TOMONI Co., Ltd., and One Link Co., Ltd. for franchised operations. Founded in September 1984 as Sunlight Corporation and renamed Meiko Network Japan Co., Ltd. in December 1986, it is headquartered at 30F Sumitomo Fudosan Nishi-Shinjuku Bldg., 7-20-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, Japan, with additional offices in Osaka and Fukuoka, and maintains international presence through subsidiaries like MEIKO NETWORK VIETNAM COMPANY LIMITED for foreign language education and affiliates in South Korea and Taiwan. In recent developments, the company established MEIKO Mirai Co., Ltd. in July 2025 to operate free school programs and correspondence high school support; acquired Meikowellness Co., Ltd. (formerly Runwellness Co., Ltd.) in March 2024 for after-school daycare and child development services; completed the acquisition of Reverse Inc. by MEIKO Career Partners Co., Ltd. in February 2023; and continues expansion under its Medium-Term Management Plan “MEIKO Transition — Aiming to Be a 100-year-old Company Beyond” (FY2025–FY2027), achieving fiscal year ended August 31, 2025 net sales of 24.0 billion yen, operating profit of 1.5 billion yen, and profit attributable to owners of parent of 1,727 million yen, prompting an increased year-end dividend to 14 yen per share for a total annual payout of 27 yen.
