Bando Chemical Industries, Ltd. manufactures and sells rubber and elastomer products, including automotive and industrial power transmission belts, conveyor belts and systems, and advanced elastomer components. The company, founded in 1906 and headquartered in Kobe, Japan, operates through its Automotive Parts Division offering accessory drive power transmission belts, system products, and variable speed belts for two-wheeled vehicles; Industrial Products Division providing V-belts, synchronous belts, pulleys, resin and synchronous conveyor belts, rice-hulling rolls, and related systems; Advanced Elastomer Products Division supplying cleaning blades, high-performance rollers, precision belts, polyurethane functional parts, precision polishing materials, and various films for construction, medical, decorative display, and industrial applications; and Other Business encompassing robotics-related devices, electronics products such as optical clear adhesive sheets, thermal conductive sheets, and medical/healthcare equipment including the swallowing movement monitor B4S. Bando maintains a global 4-pole supply system with production and sales bases across Japan, Asia, America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, serving automotive OEMs, industrial machinery manufacturers, agricultural equipment users, and aftermarket distributors worldwide. Recent developments include the launch of Heavy-duty double cog belts featuring cellulose nanofiber-compounded rubber for enhanced weather resistance and environmental benefits, BANDO GLANMESSE PVC films for displays, and QUICK CHANGE ATOM tool changers for collaborative robots; a strategic partnership with Canada-based Inmotive Inc. for 2-speed transmissions in two- and three-wheeled electric vehicles; investment in inaho Inc. for AI-equipped harvesting robots; termination of production at Bando USA, Inc. in March 2025 to focus on sales functions; expansion of solar power at its Thai subsidiary in December 2024; and progression under the Mid-Term Management Plan "Creating New Value for the Future (Stage 1)" with emphasis on smart manufacturing, sustainability, and new business evolution.
