Business
Cape EMS Berhad, an investment holding company headquartered in Senai, Johor, Malaysia, and founded in 1999, provides electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and related supporting goods and services to customers in Asia, the United States, and Europe. The company offers end-to-end contract manufacturing solutions, including parts and components sourcing and procurement, production, assembly, testing, packaging, and direct global distribution; aluminum die casting with high pressure die casting, precision machining, secondary processes, and assembly; turnkey box build assembly for industrial electronics such as wireless communication equipment (point-to-point/point-to-multiple-point antenna devices, interface and gateway devices, microwave antenna devices), smart utility data collection equipment (gateway devices, repeaters, remote readers, transceivers), POS terminals, LED lighting products, digital vending machines, and portable printer power desks, as well as consumer electronics including household appliances (cordless vacuum cleaners), EV chargers, life science equipment, and electronic cigarettes. Through subsidiaries, Cape EMS engages in plastic molding, supply of electronic products, and selling and distribution of electric vehicles and related accessories and infrastructures, serving industries with approximately 600,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and 775 employees. Formerly known as EMS Manufacturing (M) Berhad, the company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia in March 2023 under ticker 5311.KL; in 2025, it secured financing support from Maybank's Johor-Singapore Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) initiative as part of a RM15 billion commitment to expand clean-energy capabilities including battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV-related infrastructure, and smart-mobility solutions; signed a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MOU) with EV Connection Sdn. Bhd. through its renewable energy arm CAPE Renewables Sdn. Bhd. to advance EV charging and solar infrastructure rollout in Malaysia; entered a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Sermatec Energy Technology; and reaffirmed its project-based collaboration with Perak Transit Bhd. for smart infrastructure and renewable energy solutions in Perak, including smart bus stops and an EV hub in Ipoh.
