Taiwan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. manufactures and markets discrete semiconductor devices and power integrated circuits internationally, with operations mainly in Taiwan, Asia, the United States, and Europe. Its core product portfolio includes rectifiers such as Schottky rectifiers, bridge rectifiers, and standard rectifiers; transistors including MOSFETs, insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), and small signal transistors; power management ICs encompassing automotive voltage regulators, linear voltage regulators, switching regulators, LED drivers, and voltage references; as well as ESD protection devices, trigger diodes, silicon controlled rectifiers, transient voltage suppressors, and magnetic sensors. The company also specializes in customized design, integration, and marketing of label papers and parts, in addition to development and sales of handheld computers for enterprise use. Its semiconductor products serve diverse industries including automotive (gasoline and electric vehicles), industrial (power tools, charging piles, pneumatic devices), telecom (5G, IoT), consumer electronics, lighting, and energy sectors. Founded in 1968, Taiwan Semiconductor is headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Recently, Taiwan Semiconductor has intensified its R&D efforts with a restructuring of its research resources, forming dedicated teams for core and new products to accelerate innovation. It launched several next-generation semiconductor products such as trench Schottky rectifiers, fast recovery diodes (FREDs), super junction MOSFETs, and shielded gate technology MOSFETs designed to reduce conduction and switching losses aiming at energy-efficient applications. The company is advancing in third-generation semiconductors with newly introduced SiC Schottky diodes and ongoing development of SiC MOSFETs. It has enhanced its automotive product quality with several product models passing automotive qualification standards to meet stringent industry requirements. Operationally, Taiwan Semiconductor has reinforced its global footprint by acquiring a 95% stake in Torex Vietnam Semiconductor, expanding into automotive-grade power semiconductor packaging and testing to strengthen its presence in AI, automotive, power supply, and green energy sectors. Additionally, it continues to implement its “Quality Excellence Roadmap,” focusing on zero-defect strategies, risk-based management, and process robustness to solidify product and process reliability. Taiwan Semiconductor operates within the semiconductor industry’s discrete devices and power IC segments, targeting automotive, industrial, telecommunications, and consumer electronics markets worldwide. It benefits from a well-established international presence with broad product adoption across diverse applications. The company remains publicly listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under ticker 5425.TWO.
