Business
AsiaPhos Limited is a Singapore-based investment holding company listed on the SGX-Catalist board that engages in the trading of sustainable commodities, renewable energy development, and related businesses following the divestment of its legacy phosphate mining and downstream chemical operations. The company offers phosphate-based chemical products including sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium hexametaphosphate, phosphoric acid, yellow phosphorus, trisodium phosphate, tetra-sodium pyrophosphate, tetrapotassium pyrophosphate, sodium acid pyrophosphate, disodium phosphate, monosodium phosphate, and sodium trimetaphosphate; wholesale trade of fertilizers and other commodity products; carbon credit broking and trading; renewable energy solutions such as solar projects; and ancillary services encompassing general wholesale of chemicals, mineral products, internet technology consulting, and transportation. It operates geographically in Asia, Europe, Africa, and other regions, with customers spanning industrial, food, feed, detergents, construction, ceramics, textiles, and beverage sectors. Founded in 1996 and headquartered at 22 Kallang Avenue #03-02 Hong Aik Industrial Building, Singapore 339413, the company underwent major strategic changes in 2024, including the disposal of its yellow phosphorus plant assets to Sichuan Rongda Yuexiang Chemical Group Co., Ltd. for RMB71.39 million; the sale of Norwest Chemicals Pte. Ltd. and subsidiaries housing discontinued mining and chemical operations; acquisition of 51% stake in Velora Pte. Ltd. to expand fertilizer wholesale trading; completion of a rights issue raising net proceeds of S$2.22 million for working capital and expansion; incorporation of wholly-owned subsidiary Norwest Global Trading Pte. Ltd.; entry into a settlement agreement with the Chinese government resolving legacy mining disputes; appointment of new CEO Ong Eng Keong, Chairman Wong Quee Quee Jeffrey, and independent directors; and shareholder approval for diversification into renewable energy businesses.
