Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd. is a nationwide joint-stock commercial bank that provides a comprehensive range of banking products and services to individuals, corporations, small and medium enterprises, and multinational companies in China and internationally; its core offerings include deposit-taking, short-, medium-, and long-term loans, settlement services, bill discounting, letters of credit and guarantees, wealth management products such as open-ended funds, structured deposits, security investment custody, individual foreign exchange trading, collective security investments and insurance distribution, cards, lending services including deposit treasury bond pledged loans and car mortgages, cash management, supply chain financing, investment banking, entrusted assets, occupational pension solutions, offshore banking, assets custody, trade finance, treasury and market products encompassing foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, structured products, fixed income and commodity exchanges, as well as financial leasing, trust, asset management, overseas investment banking, currency brokerage and rural banking operations. The bank, founded in 1993 and headquartered in Shanghai, China, operates through 42 first-level branches across 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China, plus international branches in Hong Kong, Singapore and London, with approximately 1,700 outlets and over 60,000 employees serving diverse customer segments in commercial banking, personal banking and institutional services. In recent developments, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd. completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in Shanghai Innovation Bank Co., Ltd. from SVB Financial Group in August 2024, renaming it as a wholly owned subsidiary focused on technology startups; it established a strategic ecosystem partnership with Bairong Inc. in November 2025 to integrate AI-driven solutions for intelligent financial management, credit decision-making, risk monitoring, cross-border finance, asset management and customer operations; additionally, its Shanghai branch has deepened involvement in mergers and acquisitions finance, supporting leveraged buyouts and cross-border deals in sectors like biopharmaceuticals, integrated circuits and AI robots amid policy-driven growth in technology, supply chain, inclusive, cross-border and treasury finance.
