Business
Guolian Minsheng Securities Co., Ltd. primarily operates as a securities firm in China, providing a comprehensive suite of financial services including securities brokerage; asset management; securities investment consulting; credit trading; margin financing and securities lending; underwriting and sponsorship of securities; financial advisory services related to securities issuance and trading; as well as proprietary trading and wealth management. The company offers products such as equities, exchange traded products, structured products, real estate investment trusts, debt securities, listed derivatives including equity index and single stock derivatives, foreign exchange products including deliverable and non-deliverable forwards and cross currency swaps, and OTC derivatives. It also provides infrastructure services such as hosting, connectivity, data and index services, settlement and depository services, and client connectivity platforms. The firm engages its services across the Chinese capital markets and also participates in Hong Kong markets through its H-share listing (Ticker: 1456.HK). Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Shanghai, Guolian Minsheng Securities operates through multiple business segments to serve institutional clients, retail investors, and corporate customers. Recently, the company has undergone a significant strategic transformation through the full acquisition of Minsheng Securities, completed in late 2024, which consolidated Guolian's and Minsheng's resources to form a larger, more competitive securities group. This acquisition received regulatory approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission and was funded partly by a substantial share placement raising up to 2 billion yuan. The merger aims to build an industrial investment bank with strong capabilities in technology-driven investment banking, wealth management, and client services primarily focused on deepening regional presence and industry expertise, particularly in the Yangtze River Delta region. The combined entity is positioning itself as a leading modern investment bank with ambitions to grow domestic and international influence, supported by enhanced operational synergies, expanded product offerings, and a refined strategic direction toward industrial financial integration. In 2025, Guolian Minsheng also implemented key governance reforms including the abolition of its supervisory committee and adoption of new corporate governance measures to align with its expanded scale and strategic goals. Guolian Minsheng Securities operates predominantly in the securities and investment banking industry, targeting a broad customer base including individual investors, corporations, and institutional clients across mainland China and Hong Kong. It leverages its broad product portfolio and financial advisory expertise to support capital markets activities such as equity and debt issuance, mergers and acquisitions, and structured finance solutions. The company is part of the larger Guolian Group, a government-backed conglomerate, which provides strategic support and capital backing to enhance its competitive positioning in the sector. Overall, Guolian Minsheng Securities combines the heritage and resources of Guolian Securities and Minsheng Securities to deliver expanded investment banking and wealth management capabilities aligned with China’s evolving capital market landscape.
