Sinotrans Limited (601598.SS) is a leading provider of integrated logistics services principally in China. The company operates through three primary segments: agency and related business encompassing ocean freight forwarding, air freight, shipping agency, railway transportation, trucking and multimodal services; supply chain logistics including contract logistics, project logistics, chemical logistics, cold chain logistics and integrated supply chain solutions; and e-business featuring cross-border e-commerce logistics, logistics e-commerce platforms and equipment sharing platforms. It also offers storage and terminal services, logistics equipment leasing and other specialized services such as warehousing, container yards and depot operations. Sinotrans Limited serves diverse industries including pan-consumer goods, technology electronics, medical health, automobile, industrial manufacturing, new retail and special logistics, targeting Fortune 500 clients such as Procter & Gamble, GE and Nestle, as well as government agencies. The company maintains an extensive global network covering China comprehensively and more than 40 countries and regions worldwide, with operations spanning Europe, North America, Africa, South America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and港澳台. Incorporated on 20 November 2002 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2003, Sinotrans Limited functions as the second-tier subsidiary and unified logistics platform of China Merchants Group, with headquarters in Beijing. In recent developments, Sinotrans Limited announced a management shake-up in June 2025 following the termination of a planned acquisition of its container line services by Antong. The company completed the sale of its 25% stake in LOCM International in October 2025, recognizing an investment gain of RMB 1.65 billion, and has actively repurchased approximately 1.27% of its A-shares totaling RMB 475 million as of November 2025 to optimize capital structure. It entered strategic partnerships including a 2024 MOU with LX Pantos for a Korea-China multimodal transport joint venture and a September 2024 collaboration with SATS to establish air cargo gateway hubs in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Belgium, alongside ongoing digital transformation initiatives in AI and supply chain management.
