KITO Corporation (6409.T), a leading manufacturer of hoists, cranes and material handling equipment, develops, produces and sells electric chain hoists including EQ, ER and RY series; wire rope hoists; manual chain hoists such as CX series; lever hoists including LX and LB series; air hoists; trolleys; balancers; pillow hook devices; lifting chains encompassing Grade 8, Grade 10, DAT and DT series; light crane systems like Kito PRO; below-the-hook devices; and cranes, along with parts and maintenance services. The company serves industries including steel, metals, mining, ports, automotive, metallurgy and pharmaceuticals through general distribution channels of dealers and special agents. Founded in November 1932 and headquartered in Showa-cho, Yamanashi Japan with a Tokyo office, KITO operates globally across Japan, the Americas, China, Asia, Europe and other regions via subsidiaries such as Kito Europe in Germany, Harrington Hoists in the US, Siam Kito in Thailand, Jiangyin Kito Crane in China, Kito do Brasil, Kito India, Kito Indonesia, Kito Taiwan, Kito Korea, Kito Canada and Kito Philippines. In 2023, KITO completed a business combination with The Crosby Group in the US, resulting in delisting from the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market and operation as part of Kito Crosby Limited, which generated $1.1 billion in 2024 revenue; Kito Crosby agreed in February 2025 to be acquired by Columbus McKinnon Corporation for $2.7 billion in an all-cash transaction expected to close later in 2025 subject to regulatory approvals. Recent strategic moves include the 2022 announcement of the Crosby combination, 2020 acquisition of Van Leusden in the Netherlands and renaming of Armsel to Kito India, 2018 launch of Kito PRO Light Crane System and acquisition of Erikkila in Finland, and 2017 introduction of Kito Lifting Point.
