Business
Azbil Corporation specializes in automation technology, offering core products and services across three main segments: Building Automation, Advanced Automation, and Life Automation. In Building Automation, it provides network building automation systems, security systems, actuators, control valves, building and energy management, and maintenance and consulting services. The Advanced Automation segment supplies supervisory control systems, solution packages, controllers, combustion safety control equipment, sensors, and industrial instruments for factories and plants. Life Automation covers gas meters, safety maintenance equipment, supply equipment for lifeline utilities, residential central air-conditioning systems, and solutions for life science research and pharmaceuticals. Azbil also delivers services related to system maintenance, consulting, and asset management, supporting various industries globally with a strong presence in Japan and international markets. Founded in 1906 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Azbil Corporation actively pursues sustainable growth through technological innovation and global expansion. Recent major changes include the strategic sale of its subsidiary Telstar, a global life and health science equipment manufacturer, to Syntegon Technology GmbH in October 2024, to optimize its business portfolio. Additionally, Azbil joined the Nessum Alliance in April 2025 to leverage its measurement and control technology for broader industrial collaboration. The company announced a new medium-term growth plan in May 2025 focusing on evolution and co-creation, intensified efforts in digital transformation such as digital twin technology adoption, and expanded strategic partnerships including a collaboration with Kamstrup for ultrasonic smart water meters in Japan. Operationally, Azbil also advanced share repurchase programs in 2025 and relocated its head office to support its future business strategy and sustainability goals. These initiatives underline Azbil’s commitment to human-centered automation and environmental stewardship while enhancing shareholder value and global competitiveness.
