Business
Yinson Holdings Berhad is a global energy infrastructure and technology company focused on offshore production, renewable energy, and green technologies. Founded in 1984 as a transport agency in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and listed on Bursa Malaysia since 1996, the company is headquartered at Level 16, Menara South Point, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It operates primarily through subsidiaries Yinson Production, which owns and operates floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels including FPSO Anna Nery, FPSO Atlanta, FPSO Maria Quitéria, FPSO Agogo, FPSO Helang, FPSO Abigail-Joseph, FPSO John Agyekum Kufuor, and FPSO PTSC Lam Son, providing design, construction, leasing, sub-leasing, operation, and maintenance services on bareboat or time charter basis; Yinson Renewables, which develops, owns, and operates large-scale solar and wind power projects such as the 175 MW Rising Bhadla plants in India, 285 MW Nokh solar plant, and 97 MWp Matarani solar plant in Peru, selling electricity as an independent power producer; and Yinson GreenTech, which offers sustainable transportation solutions including electric vehicle (EV) leasing under drivEV, e-bike offerings under rydeEV, EV charging networks under chargEV, and zero-emission vessels like the Hydroglyder and Hydromover. The company maintains geographic operations across Asia Pacific (Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore), Latin America (Brazil, Peru, Chile, Colombia), Europe (Norway, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom), Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Angola), and other regions including the United States. Recent developments include Yinson Production securing a USD 1 billion investment in redeemable convertible preferred shares and 10% warrants from a consortium of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), and RRJ Group in January 2025 at a post-money valuation of USD 3.7 billion, with an option for an additional USD 500 million, primarily to fund FPSO growth while distributing USD 200 million to Yinson Holdings; completion of the divestment of its offshore marine business Regulus Offshore to Lianson Fleet Group Bhd (formerly ICON Offshore) for RM160 million in shares on 31 January 2025, retaining a minority stake and board seat to focus on FPSO and energy transition; achievement of first oil by FPSO Maria Quitéria and FPSO Atlanta in Brazil in 2024; commercial operations at the 97 MWp Matarani solar plant in Peru in 2024; USD 1.3 billion project financing for FPSO Agogo and USD 1.035 billion senior secured notes for FPSO Anna Nery refinancing in 2024; USD 500 million senior secured bond issuance and private placement of up to 120 million shares in 2024 to support energy transition; official launch of the fully electric Hydroglyder vessel and expansions in EV leasing and e-bikes in 2024; and a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia Forest Fund for nature-based solutions projects in 2024.
