Business
American Century Mid Cap Value Fund (ACCLX) is an open-end mutual fund managed by American Century Investments that seeks long-term capital growth, with income as a secondary consideration, by investing primarily in value stocks of mid-cap companies whose market capitalizations fall within the range of the Russell 3000 Index excluding the largest 100 companies. The fund allocates at least 80% of its net assets to medium-size U.S. equities, emphasizing undervalued stocks across sectors such as healthcare, financial services, industrials, consumer defensive, and real estate; top holdings include Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc., Enterprise Products Partners LP, Henry Schein Inc., US Bancorp, and Norfolk Southern Corp., representing approximately 10.93% of the portfolio, with 90.32% in U.S. stocks, 8.27% in non-U.S. stocks, and 1.41% in cash. It offers C Class shares with a net expense ratio of 1.98%, a 1.00% deferred load, minimum initial investment of $2,500 ($1,000 for IRAs), and daily pricing, available for sale in the United States. Launched on March 1, 2010, as part of American Century Investments—founded in 1958 and headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri—the fund operates within the mid-cap value category and manages total net assets of approximately $7.04 billion, with the C Class share class at $7.49 million. The portfolio is managed by a team including lead manager Kevin Toney (since 2008), Brian Woglom (since 2012), and Nathan Rawlins (since 2022), following the planned retirement of longtime comanager Michael Liss at year-end 2025, with duties transitioning to other team members by March 2026; this team-led approach, supported by a stable analyst group, maintains continuity amid Liss's departure after over 20 years on the strategy. American Century Investments, the fund's sponsor, recently announced a strategic alliance with CIBC Asset Management Inc. in November 2025 to launch eight Avantis CIBC ETFs in Canada, expanding its ETF offerings through its Avantis Investors division, which has grown to over $40 billion in assets under management as of early 2025.
