Business
Global X Aging Population ETF (AGNG) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investment results corresponding generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Indxx Aging Population Thematic Index. The fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities comprising the underlying index, which targets companies positioned to benefit from the world's aging population through exposure to health care, pharmaceuticals, senior living facilities, medical devices, health care equipment and services, biotechnology, and real estate; top holdings include Eli Lilly & Co., Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca Plc, Welltower Inc., and UCB SA. AGNG offers diversified global exposure across developed markets, with approximately 61% in U.S. stocks, 38% in non-U.S. stocks, and sector allocations dominated by health care (92%) and real estate (8%). Launched on May 9, 2016 and domiciled in the United States, AGNG is managed by Global X Management Company LLC, headquartered at 605 Third Avenue, 43rd Floor, New York, New York. Global X, founded in 2008 as part of Mirae Asset Global Investments, operates a broad lineup of over 90 ETFs spanning thematic growth, income, international access, core equity, commodities, and fixed income strategies, with assets under management exceeding $30 billion as of mid-2025 and significant net inflows in recent years. In 2025, Global X announced a strategic partnership with Nasdaq Dorsey Wright in early April to enhance momentum-based investing across select thematic ETFs, including updates to the Global X Dorsey Wright Thematic ETF (GXDW); the firm also reported robust growth with nearly $4.3 billion in net inflows year-to-date through July, alongside product lineup expansions in fixed income and covered call strategies totaling over $15 billion in AUM. No major changes, such as acquisitions, liquidations, or rebrandings, were reported specifically for AGNG in the last 1-2 years, maintaining its focus on the aging population theme amid ongoing demographic shifts projecting the global 65+ population to double by 2053.
