The company operates through three main divisions: AMG Lithium, which produces lithium concentrate, tantalum, and niobium for electric vehicle batteries and electronics; AMG Vanadium, which recycles vanadium from refinery waste into ferrovanadium, titanium aluminides, and chromium metal for high-strength steels and aerospace applications; and AMG Technologies, which offers advanced vacuum furnace systems, silicon metal, antimony, natural graphite, and LIVA Hybrid Energy Storage Systems for high-purity metals processing and industrial energy management. AMG serves aerospace, energy storage, nuclear, and infrastructure sectors with a focus on CO2 reduction and circular economy solutions. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, AMG maintains production facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, China, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Sri Lanka, with sales offices in Japan. In May 2023, the company changed its name from AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V. to AMG Critical Materials N.V.; in June 2024, it entered a strategic partnership with Savannah Resources, investing GBP 16 million for a 15.8% stake and a 45ktpa spodumene offtake agreement from the Barroso Lithium Project in Portugal, expandable to 90ktpa with project financing; and in March 2025, it repurchased a 40% stake in subsidiary Graphit Kropfmühl GmbH from Alterna Capital Partners.
