Business
Asara Resources Limited Asara Resources Limited (ASX:AS1) is an Australian-listed exploration company focused on advancing mineral projects primarily in gold, copper, silver, lead, and zinc across West Africa and South America. The company holds a portfolio of advanced assets, including its flagship Kada Gold Project in eastern Guinea's Siguiri Basin, featuring an Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 30.3 million tonnes at 0.95 grams per tonne gold for 923,000 ounces, predominantly shallow oxide-transitional mineralization; the Kouri Gold Project and a 2 million ounce discovery in Burkina Faso; the Paguanta Copper-Silver-Lead-Zinc Project in northern Chile with a Measured, Indicated, and Inferred Mineral Resource of 2.4 million tonnes at 88 grams per tonne silver, 5.0% zinc, and 1.4% lead for 6.8 million ounces silver, 265 million pounds zinc, and 74 million pounds lead at the open-ended Patricia Prospect; and the adjacent Loreto Porphyry Copper Project in Chile. Operations span Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Chile, targeting prolific gold belts and copper districts with a strategy emphasizing resource expansion through drilling, geophysics, and land package growth. Founded in 1987 and headquartered at Suite 1, 130 Hay Street, Subiaco, Western Australia, the company, formerly known as Golden Rim Resources Limited until its name change in December 2023, employs a team led by CEO Matthew Sharples. Recent developments include a US$17 million option and joint venture agreement with Teck Resources Chile Limitada granting Teck the right to earn up to 75% interest in the Loreto project; a $2.3 million placement with Barbet LLC FZ in February 2025 to support Kada exploration, coinciding with executive transition as Timothy Strong stepped down as Managing Director; and a landmark $25 million institutional placement in July 2025 at $0.05 per share to accelerate Kada activities, including resource extension and infill drilling at Massan, RC and auger drilling on new Talico and Banan licenses, camp upgrades, and geophysics across the 150 square kilometer project area, while pursuing divestment of Paguanta to concentrate on Kada.
