Business
Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Limited (ASAL), a Tata AutoComp Systems Limited subsidiary holding a 75% stake, manufactures and supplies sheet metal components, welded assemblies and modules for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, tractors and electric vehicles; core products include Body-In-White (BIW) structural panels and skin panels, chassis and suspension components such as rear twist beams and wheel housings, fuel tanks, oil sumps, battery trays, aluminium cooling tubes, heavy fabrications via stamping (250-1500T presses), robotic/manual welding (MIG, TIG, projection, laser, friction stir), laser cutting, CNC machining and surface treatments with corrosion-resistant coatings. The company, founded in 1990 and headquartered in Pune, India, operates five manufacturing plants across Pune (Maharashtra), Pantnagar (Uttarakhand), Sanand (Gujarat) and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), serving customers including Tata Motors Limited, Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited, Piaggio and Ashok Leyland. Recent developments encompass commencement of commercial production at the new Sanand plant in late 2023 to expand capacity for existing products, establishment of a Jamshedpur facility, approval of related party transactions for FY2025-26 including expanded supply agreements with Tata Motors (up to Rs350 crore), Tata AutoComp (Rs240 crore) and Fiat (Rs180 crore), alongside recognition from Tata Motors for resilient supply chain performance and commitment to excellence in 2023-2024.
