Business
Asante Gold Corporation Asante Gold Corporation (CSE:ASE) operates as a gold exploration, development and production company focused on Ghana, Africa's largest gold producer, with primary activities centered on the Bibiani and Chirano gold mines located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts in the Western North Region; it also advances the Kubi development project and conducts exploration on prospective holdings including Keyhole, Fahiakoba, Betenase and Aboduabo concessions. The company produces gold through open-pit and transitioning underground operations at its two principal mines, supported by processing plants and ongoing expansions to enhance throughput and recovery rates, such as the sulphide treatment plant at Bibiani targeted for commissioning in early 2025; its exploration pipeline targets new discoveries along an 80-kilometer strike length in Ghana's Golden Triangle, serving institutional investors and contributing to local economic development via ESG-integrated practices. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Asante maintains listings on the Canadian Securities Exchange, Ghana Stock Exchange and OTCQX markets, with subsidiaries Asante Gold Bibiani Limited and Asante Gold Chirano Limited overseeing Ghana operations. Recent developments include a comprehensive approximately $500 million financing package closed in August 2025, comprising a $150 million senior debt facility led by FirstRand Bank's Rand Merchant Bank division with Appian Capital Advisory and others, a $125 million mezzanine facility from Appian and Helikon Investments, a $50 million gold stream with Appian, and equity raises including a C$237 million brokered private placement; concurrent restructuring of obligations to Kinross Gold Corporation via a $53 million cash payment, 36.9 million common shares and an $80 million convertible debenture, alongside accelerated Bibiani underground development and highway relocation to unlock growth potential aiming for over 500,000 ounces annual production by 2028.
