Business
Ashoka Buildcon Limited is a diversified infrastructure development company primarily engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of highways, bridges, power transmission and distribution projects, railways, and urban infrastructure across India and select international markets including the Maldives. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Nashik, India, the company operates through multiple business segments including Construction & Contract Related Activities, Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT), Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) projects, and Sale of Goods. Its core offerings include highway and road construction; power transmission lines and substations; electrification of rural and urban areas; city gas distribution; and construction of institutional, commercial, healthcare and educational buildings. In addition to infrastructure development, Ashoka Buildcon provides ready-mix concrete, bitumen, and real estate development services. Recent major developments include the execution of a concession agreement with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for significant road projects, securing Letters of Intent for an Intelligent Traffic Management System in Maharashtra valued at approximately Rs 1,387 crore spanning multiple regions and a 10-year timeline, and the award of a gauge conversion EPC contract worth Rs 569 crore. The company continues expanding its footprint in power infrastructure with extensive work in power transmission, electrification of over 30,000 villages, and railway electrification projects covering more than 750 track kilometers. Despite challenges such as project delays and land acquisition hurdles, Ashoka Buildcon is actively pursuing new orders and business growth with a strong talent pool and financial base, marked by a market capitalization of several thousand crores and a firm presence in India's infrastructure sector. Ashoka Buildcon is listed on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange of India, operates in over 20 states domestically, and extends its infrastructure expertise overseas. It maintains a robust compliance profile with certifications in quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management. The company’s strategy emphasizes integrated infrastructure solutions combining EPC, BOT, HAM, and allied services to meet the evolving demands of government, institutional, and private sector clients across India and select international markets. Its portfolio reflects a comprehensive approach to infrastructure, including roads, power, railways, urban infrastructure, and real estate development.
