Business
Metal Powder Works Limited (ASX:MPW), founded in 2017 and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, with a registered office in Perth, Western Australia, specializes in the production of high-quality metal powders for additive manufacturing, cold spray, and other advanced applications using its patented non-thermal DirectPowder process. The company converts premium bar stock into defect-free powders, offering over 20 alloys including high-strength aluminum such as AA7075 and AA2219, copper and copper-nickel alloys like C101 and CuNi, aluminum bronze C61400, and specialty materials such as CP titanium, Zircaloy, and zirconium; these serve aerospace, defense, nuclear, marine, energy, and industrial sectors with small-batch, high-yield production exceeding 150-200 metric tons annually across key alloys. Metal Powder Works operates primarily from its Neighborhood 91 facility in Pittsburgh, targeting OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and government programs in the United States, Australia, and globally. In 2025, the company relisted on the ASX following a merger with K-Tig Limited and A$10 million raise, doubled DirectPowder production capacity by commissioning two additional units and implementing automation for lights-out manufacturing, entered powder partnerships with Titomic Ltd (ASX:TTT) and Solvus Global, signed supply contracts with Westinghouse Electric for nuclear applications and the US Navy for an expeditionary unit, expanded its customer base to 25 unique buyers including HAMR Industries and Eaton Corporation, and appointed Jim McDowell, former Australian Deputy Secretary of Naval Shipbuilding, to its board.
