Babcock International Group PLC is a British multinational aerospace, defence and security company that provides engineering support services, asset management and critical systems to defence, emergency services and civil nuclear customers. The company operates through four sectors: Marine, which supports naval ships, submarines and marine infrastructure including through-life sustainment, weapons handling systems and Skynet secure communications; Nuclear, delivering submarine maintenance, decommissioning, new build programme management, training and civil nuclear projects such as Hinkley Point C; Land, offering vehicle fleet management, equipment support, training and armoured vehicle production; and Aviation, providing pilot training, helicopter maintenance and in-service support for military and civil aircraft. Babcock designs and manufactures specialist equipment including liquid gas handling systems, electronic warfare solutions and air defence technologies; it also manages complex assets for governments and serves markets in the UK, Australasia, Canada, France, South Africa and internationally. Founded in 1891 and headquartered in London, England, the company reported half-year revenue of £2.54 billion to 30 September 2025, with a contract backlog of £9.9 billion. Recent developments include a teaming agreement with Patria for its 6x6 armoured personnel carrier to the UK Armed Forces, an in-service support partnership with Hanwha Ocean on the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project, an MOU with HII for unmanned underwater vehicle launch systems, over £50 million in new Skynet orders, a first defence contract in South Africa for submarine support, a 10-year deal with Airbus Helicopters for French H145 helicopters, progress on Type 31 frigates and Devonport dock re-opening, a £114 million nuclear defueling contract, and a £200 million share buyback programme with £49 million completed in the first half.
