Business
Brown Advisory - WMC Strategic European Equity Fund Advisor Shares (BAHAX) is an open-end mutual fund that seeks total return principally through investments in equity securities of companies domiciled in or exercising the predominant part of their economic activity in Europe, as defined by the MSCI Europe Index countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in such equities, encompassing common stock, preferred stock, convertible securities, equity options, stock futures, other investment companies, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), initial public offerings (IPOs), and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) across all market capitalizations; it may allocate up to 20% to non-European securities, including those in emerging markets, and employs derivatives such as options, futures contracts, currency forwards, swaps, and participatory notes for investment, hedging, or cash management purposes. Wellington Management Company LLP serves as sub-adviser, with C. Dirk Enderlein, CFA, as lead portfolio manager since inception, employing a bottom-up stock selection process informed by global industry analysts to target companies with above-average sales, earnings, or cash flow growth; Brown Advisory LLC acts as investment adviser, overseeing a portfolio with recent turnover of 47% and net assets approximating $681 million across share classes. Launched on October 21, 2013, and domiciled in the United States, the Fund targets institutional and advisor investors with a minimum initial investment of $100, offering Advisor Shares at a 1.45% expense ratio inclusive of 0.90% management fees, 0.25% 12b-1 fees, and 0.15% shareholder servicing fees. Recent developments include updated prospectuses and summary prospectuses effective October 31, 2025, incorporating the latest fiscal year data through September 30, 2025, alongside a strategic restriction on new purchases for the Fund (subject to exceptions) to manage inflows and liquidity, as noted in statutory disclosures; the portfolio maintains a blend style with mid- to large-cap emphasis, 92% non-U.S. stocks, and top holdings such as British American Tobacco plc, AIB Group PLC, Smiths Group PLC, and Unilever PLC representing 18.34% of assets as of recent reporting.
