Business
Bangkok Commercial Asset Management Public Company Limited (BAM) operates as an asset management company in Thailand, specializing in the acquisition and management of non-performing loans (NPLs) and non-performing assets (NPAs). The company purchases NPLs, primarily collateralized by real estate properties with first-priority mortgages, from financial institutions including banks and other asset management companies; manages these through debt restructuring negotiations with debtors; acquires NPAs via debtor negotiations, foreclosures, direct purchases, or auction collateral; renovates and improves NPAs prior to sales; and provides supporting services for asset and property management. BAM conducts operations nationwide through its headquarters in Bangkok and multiple branches across regions including the Bangkok Metropolitan area, Central, North, Northeastern, Eastern, and Southern Thailand. Established in 1998 as a state enterprise under the Financial Institution Development Fund to manage distressed assets from the financial crisis, particularly those of Bangkok Bank of Commerce, BAM is headquartered at 99 Surasak Road, Silom, Bang Rak District, Bangkok 10500. In recent developments, BAM reports strong performance for the nine months ended September 2025, including successful collections of NPLs and NPAs; maintains investments in joint ventures such as ARI AMC and ARUN AMC (with Kasikornbank), which increased by 4.5% year-over-year to 696 million baht as of mid-2025; and signs memoranda of understanding with new partners Vbeyond Development PCL and Siamese Asset PCL in 2025 to enhance NPA collection efficiency and support debtor-centric restructuring strategies under new leadership.
