- Bannari Amman Spinning Mills Ltd engages in the manufacture and marketing of cotton yarn, woven and knitted fabrics, home textiles, knitted garments, and technical textiles; it also generates wind power. The company produces combed and carded knitting cotton yarns in counts such as Ne 20/1, Ne 24/1, Ne 34/1, and Ne 40/1, along with grey knitted fabrics, wide-width fabrics for home furnishings, industrial textiles, bed linen, mattress protectors, pillow protectors, and processed fabrics from its coating and lamination divisions. Incorporated in 1989 and headquartered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, it operates spinning units near Dindigul, weaving, knitting, processing, and garment facilities primarily in Tamil Nadu, with exports to markets including Israel, Mauritius, Egypt, Taiwan, and South Korea; it maintains production capacities of 90 tons of yarn daily, 30 tons of grey knitted fabric daily, 7.5 lakh meters of woven fabric monthly, and 14 tons of dyed fabric daily, supported by 35.4 MW of wind energy generation.
In recent developments, the company approved a rights issue of up to 33.33 million equity shares at Rs 30 each in 2024-2025 to raise approximately Rs 100 crore for financing needs, with the subscription period running through April 2025. It reported mixed Q3 FY2025 results in March 2025, featuring a 20.92% decline in net sales to Rs 213.11 crore but a 152.9% surge in net profit to Rs 1.06 crore. Earlier in 2024, SP Apparels acquired key assets from its textile business, including subsidiary Young Brand Apparel Private and facilities at Palladam Hi-Tech Weaving Park and SIPCOT Perundurai.
