- JPMorgan BetaBuilders 1-5 Year U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (BBSA) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Bloomberg Short-Term U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, before fees and expenses, by investing in a portfolio of U.S. dollar-denominated investment grade taxable bonds with remaining effective maturities between one and five years. The fund primarily holds U.S. Treasury bonds, government-related bonds, investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds, mortgage-backed pass-through securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, and U.S. dollar-denominated emerging market bonds, employing a representative sampling technique to replicate the index. Launched on March 12, 2019, BBSA operates within the fixed income segment of the U.S. investment-grade bond market, targeting institutional and retail investors seeking short-term duration exposure with low interest rate risk. BBSA forms part of the J.P. Morgan Exchange-Traded Fund Trust, managed by J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc., a business unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co., which maintains global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York. The ETF focuses exclusively on U.S. fixed income markets, with no significant international geographic operations beyond standard cross-listings on exchanges such as Cboe BZX. In a major strategic change announced on August 29, 2024, J.P. Morgan Asset Management initiated the liquidation and dissolution of BBSA, alongside the JPMorgan BetaBuilders U.S. TIPS 0-5 Year ETF (BBIP). The last day of trading for BBSA on the Cboe BZX Exchange occurred on October 18, 2024, with final liquidating distributions paid to remaining shareholders at net asset value on or about October 25, 2024. This operational wind-down reflects a portfolio optimization decision by the sponsor, resulting in the ETF's delisting and cessation of operations as of late 2024.
