BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust (NYSE: BDJ) is a closed-end equity mutual fund that seeks to provide current income and gains through investments in dividend-paying common stocks with capital appreciation potential, supplemented by an option writing strategy to enhance shareholder distributions. The Trust invests, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its total assets in dividend-paying equities across diversified sectors and all market capitalizations, including direct securities or synthetic exposure via derivatives; up to 20% may be allocated to non-dividend-paying equity securities. It benchmarks performance against the Russell 1000 Value Index and operates within the asset management industry, targeting income-focused investors seeking enhanced yields. Launched on August 31, 2005, and domiciled in the United States with headquarters at 50 Hudson Yards, New York, the Trust was formerly known as BlackRock Enhanced Dividend Achievers TM Trust.
